There’s a new interview with the guy who climbed Erebus on his day off here.
A few years before, three people had tried to go up Erebus in the winter, but they ran into bad weather and had to retreat. Unfortunately, they had told some of their roommates, and the roommates panicked and told Search and Rescue.
