The Austral Winter Season mid-Winter dinner for this year is scheduled for 21 June 2008 which is the mid point in this year’s Austral Winter Season. The dinner is traditionally scheduled for the mid-point of the Austral Winter Season, and this year the event falls on 21 June. Because this event falls on a work-day this year Station Management was afforded the opportunity to exchange one of the scheduled days off of the Winter schedule for this event. After reviewing the schedule, the decision was made by RPSC management on the Ice not to exchange a day off and continue the date as a work day. Most of the day will be spent making preparations for the dinner during that time period. |

[Here, the RPSC Program Director implies that the decision to not have Midwinter's Day off was actually in the hands of "RPSC management on the Ice". ]
