Gallagher's is the only place to buy hard alcohol this winter and it has to be in a drink.  No buying the bottle.

We used to have a greenhouse, but now they are shutting it down.  Supposedly, they will fund the postition for next winter, but with them closing it down for the winter, it certainly does not bode well for next winter.

Seriously, no more booze sales in the ship store?  So, what, is Southern Exposure the authorized company booze vendor with HR closely watching consumption?

nah, southern is closed too.

gallaghers for the winter - the town voted on it, but i think the information wasn't presented as clearly as it could have been. it seemed to list so many pros for gallaghers and many cons for southern. ah well. at least we can get booze at gallaghers!

they're not closing it for winter - just to clarify - they are closing it for summer, when freshies come in every week. i have high hopes that it will be open for next winter. it sounds like all the right people are behind it.

frankly, if they have to choose a season for it to be open, i would say that they should choose winter every time that i am asked.

i could be totally naive, but i can hope on this one thing.

Jesus, you guys are so negative!

When Raytheon gets ousted and the new contractor comes in, I'm sure everything will be peachy.

I have heard from a lot of the people that were here with the last turnover that there was a lot of people that were upset at how ASA was treating their employees and were absolutely looking forward to Raytheon coming in.  It is certainly likely that this happens with every contract, but I think that the Raytheon track record has been pretty consistent since they have had the contract.  What do others that have been here longer than me (first came down winfly '03) think?
